Shhh... It's a Surprise!!

This weekend I surprised my Husband with a party for his birthday and it was amazing. He's still recovering and trying to fathom how I was able to plan everything and without him having the slightest idea. He keeps saying, 'I don't know about you oh, you can sell me and I won't know.' LOL, I just laugh and smile.

My friends in Edinburgh and Aberdeen are amazing and I could not have done it without them. I was thinking of what to do that he would cherish and have fun with. I mean come on as adults we're all big kids afterall. Well at least I am. So I did a mini photobooth in our office.

All in all...great party, great banter, great friends, great food and great memories. I hope you had a great weekend as well!!! I think it's safe to say I'm getting a hang of this surprising your husband and wife role. *wink*

Throwback: Colored Cuts

I'm really torn between growing my hair out or snipping the sides again. But at this point my miss my afro a bit too much to revert back to the shaved sides. Hopefully my fro will be back by December, let the moisturising and protein treatments commence!!!

I took this photo about 3 months ago and WOW! what a difference 4 kg weight can do. I was and still am at my biggest in years. But I'm gradually snapping back into my old UK 12. Getting married and living a more sedentary life, has led me to gain weight. I need to drop another 8 kg or so before spring comes. Wish me luck!!

Fur Explosion

For those who have been following this blog from the beginning, you know I'm very keen to wearing faux fur scarves in the winter, I'd literally have hundreds if I could. I've been wanting to buy a fur and leather bag but could not find one that, I really loved or that I'd pay for. I cannot justify spending over a certain amount on a 'trendy' piece.

Nevertheless, this summer in New York, I went shopping in the leather district and found loads of fur cut-offs for dirt cheap. I had no idea what I was going to make but bought them anyway. Then two months ago I brought out my glue gun, a vintage bag, and voila!! My fur and leather shoulder bag was born. It's safe to say I've been bitten by a creative bug these last couple of months!!! I absolutely love this bag.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. I cannot explain how my husband and I are just building a niche and network of fantastic friends more and more in Edinburgh. It's truly a blessing!!! One thing I've learned this week more and more is not to tolerate people or situations that don't uplift your spirit. I'm at an age where I'm working on the amount in my pockets to build sustainable wealth and safety of my soul not allowing anything to hinder it's happiness! I hope everyone is doing the same!!! Xx

A Hint of Blue

I went shopping in Glasgow the weekend before last, because after a year of being in Edinburgh, I JUST realised I don't have to fly to London to shop at my favorite store. I went in to just buy a dress or two. Then I saw this Electric Blue Coat and I told myself this HAS to be bought. I also found a pair of amazing blue cropped blue slacks. I then went on to leave then entered Whistles, H&M and Gap, and let's just say the Hubby looked and just smiled when I returned from my shopping.
Outfit Details:

Banana Republic Trousers
COS Electric Blue Wool Coat
Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100's
Vintage Scalloped Gloves
Kenneth Jay Lane Ram Bangle

I'm definitely becoming a better shopper, as I get older. Yes, I'm giving myself props. I buy what I like and classic pieces that I know will last season after season. These days I tend to buy classic print less basics (I already have a lot of prints in my wardrobe) and shop at stores that I know produce quality pieces. With Whistles and COS being my top two stores of the moment.

So I copped this amazing coat for £75.00 and I couldn't be happier....now if only I could find a nice classic black coat and Ankara Trench for the Spring.... Help send up some fashion prayers for me! *wink*
