Lord & Taylor

 

I dress for myself no one else, I love the classic look although sometimes I wish I was a bit more funky, nonetheless one thing in my closet that is classic and I love is this vintage Navy Blue Lord & Taylor blazer. I've had it for years now and every time I wear it feels like the first time!!! Hope everyone is having a blessed week, and if you aren't I pray it gets better!!!!! The weather in the UK has been surprisingly beautiful. Thank God for the Spring!

Grey Matter

Sorry I haven't updated a lot lately but my modules are getting pretty serious as of lately. Especially Neuro thus the title Grey Matter (grey matter is a major component of the central nervous system, consisting of neuronal cell bodies. for all you science geeks) Also my recent love for the color grey it is definitely my new black.

Rock Encounter

Whenever I walk around this town in the North I am often for lack of better words disheartened at the state of this city. It's so ugly in so many ways, you rarely see grass, there is always trash everywhere, and people spit like its second nature. I am not used to seeing towns and cities this dirty. However, I have now learned to appreciate the 'ugliness' of this town, turning a negative into a positive using the town to take interesting pics... Thus: The Rock Encounter.

Sometimes being laid back pays off at other times it doesn't. I am having a laid back week and weekend! Need to re-group and focus on the near future... What do you do or wear when you are feeling laid back?

Colorful Brogues

Jacket- Banana Republic, Blouse- DKNY, Pants- H&M, Necklace- Topshop, Shoes- Pour Andre, Purse- Vintage Givenchy. 

On a trip to Leeds, I planned to go straight into Zara and Harvey Nichols and go straight home. You know that didn't happen! I can never just enter one shop I don't understand why. On this particular day I am glad I didn't. I stroll into TK Maxx the British Version of TJ Maxx and I wozzy on down to the shoe section hoping to find a pair of nice shoes (being a size 8/41) its hard to get nice shoes at certain department stores. However, that day the shoe gods were in my corner. Just as I was about to leave something told me to look in the clearance section and I saw these brogues. I was trying them on and thought you don't need these. But I spotted another girl looking at me try them on. That gave me the validation to buy them sad I know. And I am glad I did. I love these brogues, they brighten up any outfit.

Au Naturale Inc.

I love my Afro and I am happy to see it back, for now. I have been natural for about 7 years, but only recently have I begun to start to actually take care of it, 5 months and counting and the results are amazing. I am one of those people that despise people putting their hands in my hair or asking doesn't it hurt when you comb it, or say it's 'cute'. I am not saying that everyone should be natural or even appreciate it but if you don't like it don't make certain comments just carry on.

 

  

In short, I love being au naturale, and this is my year of growth. Getting it straightened and trimmed on Friday, I am sad because I know they need to chop off my split ends, which means i will loose a lot of my length. But what needs to be done needs to be done. I can see me getting my hair done soon in the future to promote growth! So whatever your hair texture take care of your hair!!!
