Street Chic

 I have had these white converse's for awhile now. I try to wear them constantly because I want them to get really dirty I mean DIRTY! Yet I have failed to get them to the gritty level that I have envisioned for a while. Years ago, my friend Ike came to my friends house looking fresh. Everything was crisp and clean. I then look at his shoes and I saw these battered very dirty high top white Chuck Taylor's on him and I freaked out! I wondered how he was so innovative to put together such an outfit. And ever since I have tried to get my sneakers that dirty.... Maybe in another year or so and I'll be there. Thus, I'll have my grimy battered pair and crisp white pair! 

Meanwhile, I have noticed that I have been slacking in the Outfit post arena lately, thus I have challenged myself to do 50 outfit posts by the end of November! This shall be fun!!! Stay Tuned....

Green Paisley

For the second time in almost 2 years I woke up and didn't unravel my twist before going out (the first time was out with my friend Daks last week and I must say I felt self conscience the entire night as this was NOT my usual flawless hair). Yes over the passed couple of years I have been a natural hair snob. I usually make sure I twist my hair every night so my hair will look amazing the next morning. Sometimes I only twist my hair an hour before leaving the house and put loads of hair spray to maintain my curls and blow dry it. However, the latter technique isn't very often, as it can be detrimental to my curls. But I have been becoming very lazy with my hair lately...

I wore my hair out on Saturday evening, and quite frankly I was too lazy to twist my hair before bed. In addition, my satin scarf wasn't anywhere in site thus I used my edge control bonnet and called it a night; even though I knew I might regret it in the morning. As I finished my insanity workout, I got ready for Mass and removed my bonnet when it was dry. Added some moisturizer and fluffed it up a bit and it didn't look half bad! I was shocked, of course there was shrinkage but hey I was not complaining. I wore this simple and casual ensemble to Mass and decided to wear my glasses that I never wear. The world never looked so clearer!

 My other half loves my Afro, but I am getting tired of it at the moment. I haven't decided if I want to get braids or a short weave....with braids your wardrobe options have to be planned more as with Afro's and weaves anything goes. What do you guys think? Weave or Braids? The beauty of being able to try endless hair styles....Love it!

Travel Dress

I am a last minute packer, yet ironically I love packing. I love arranging all my shoes, accessories, and outfits (however I hate carrying products for my hair as they are sooooo heavy) for my trips, it is the first step of many to exploring a new place. Somehow I tend to end up dashing for a train, bus, plane or something; however, I am getting better with time and being more professional. Also my friends are getting used to Ag's clock telling me to be an hour or 30 mins earlier....I have smart friends. Nonetheless I notice that whenever I travel I tend to throw on this Zara Dress or it's Grey Cousin to look chic and keep it moving. I really need to retire this dress as it's the 3rd time on this blog and maybe the 100th time that I've worn it. Well I least I've goten my money's worth!!! 

 Can guys see my slopped fro? SMH it's from sleeping on the train! If you're natural like me and sleep on the train remember to re-arrange your fro! *smile*

The Turquoise Trail

I have a current fascination with Native America Turquoise Jewelry, the Vintage Native American Squash Blossom Necklace, in particular. It is on my list of statement pieces to acquire this fall. There are custom pieces available as well, but I know the Vintage one is calling my name. 

Since I was in high school, I have been in awe of Native American history, it is paralleled to the history of African Americans in many ways to me, so I felt a connection. The culture is beautiful and their ornate jewelry is unforgettable.

Fashion Night Out London 2012

 We had a good time on Fashion's Night Out London. Daks met up with her friend Terrance the Blogger of 'One Nigerian Boy' and I ran into an old friend Bolaji! It was soo good seeing him, and to see him live his dreams, he is super talented!!! I haven't seen him in ages thus it was a pleasant surprise! The night was full of  store hopping, drinks, laughs, and shopping at the Marc store!! Good times!

As we were about to go inside the Matthew Williamson shop we had NO IDEA, he was inside!! 

 Matthew is lovely, humble, outgoing, has a lovely spirit and energy and overall Fabulous!!!

 Goofing around at the Marc Jacobs Store, we didn't only go for the 'Free Drinks' we got a few goodies, exclusive prices for the night. I got rings! Come-on you knew I was going to buy accessories! The new DOT perfume is amazing, as well. You know I am a perfume fanatic but I resisted! I currently have too many bottles...

Busaba Convert

Anyone that knows me knows I love Thai Food; I can never get enough of it. I wouldn't even mind spending my honeymoon in Thailand, but I don't see that happening. Daks has seen first hand my shopping habits but I am getting a bit better (knock on wood). Nonetheless, last week Daks and I went out I swear literally everyday, and it was normal protocol it seemed to end the day at Busaba. She also introduced me to this restaurant called Graphic! I love the ambiance there and will definitely be going back there on my next trip to London in a couple of weeks. 

This photo reminds me of a corny joke my boo said on our first date. Thai food? You know it goes straight to your thighs, right? *insert confused face* and if you laughed at that joke, wow! Lol.

Sorry for not blogging sooner, but I have a lot going on right now, I should be back to my normal blogging schedule in about two weeks, but will still try to post 3-4 times a week.
