Wardrobe Winter Sale

Hey Everyone I hope you are having a fabulous holiday season. I have been running up and down planning my wedding, trying to see friends and family here and there, and squeeze in some time to rest every now and then. I have read everyone's comments and will get back to you all momentarily.

Nonetheless, I read a comment about how the coats I bought were a bit pricey, well Winter Sales have started and all my coats from the High Street are on sale as well as some of my recent trouser and shoe purchases. Darn, don't you hate when you buy something and a month later it's on sale. Well my loss and hopefully your gain.

Zara Coat on Sale (here)
When it comes to the Zara sale I usually go once in the beginning to get the things I wanted, then go towards the middle or ending of January to get things dirt cheap. Because the sale will be slashed in half again pretty soon.

H&M Pants that I wore on my birthday are on sale as well. I also bought them in burgundy and I haven't even worn them yet...sigh.

Coat of Arms

Outfit Details: Blouse Zara (OLD), Cropped Slacks GAP UK, Carven Bow Flats get (here), Vintage Bally Bag similar (here), COS Mustard Coat (here), Movado Gold Watch similar (here), Vintage Earrings, Tiger Bracelet and Stole.

I have a slight obsession with Coats this season. I have bought more this season than I have ever done before in my life. Blame it on the marvelous coats that are around at the moment. When I set my eyes on this COS Mustard Coat, I knew I had to have it. I had to hunt my size down in several of the COS stores in London. Finally, after running around the city for a week or so, I found it! I was going to buy it online but now I am happy I didn't as they run very small, and I didn't want to deal with the returning process. Don't get me wrong COS is a lovely site I have had no issues from them thus far when ordering online, but sometimes I just like trying on clothes to know if they suit me! I love the arms of the coat; however, because the arms are short I wear long leather gloves when the weather is a bit unbearable.

Birthday Weekend Recap

So my birthday was last week Friday, unfortunately the same day as the Newtown Massacre, in Connecticut. I remember almost not going out because I was so distraught at how a person can not only shoot but not pump bullets into little innocent children. My heart still isn't settled and I believe more now than ever that we can only survive on this earth with the Blessings and Protection from God, because any and everything is possible in this day in age. Things have definitely got to change.

So on Friday I fought the jetlag (although I did doze off a bit in the lounge) and partied with my Ace Dayo and my girl Selena. It was great and loved every second of it. We got cupcakes from CakeLove and the Tapas at Recess are AMAZING! We were stuffed! The Tapas are amazing, unlimited Sangria and the restaurant turns into a lounge later on in the night.

Saturday night we hit up TheW and went to the Diner in Adam's Morgan. My taste buds were craving to taste a Monte Cristo one of my favorite dishes from my days as a student at Howard. Overall it was a nice and chilled out weekend spent with amazing friends and family, although I did miss my other half during the festivities. Most of you have already seen some of these photos if you follow me on Instagram, and if you aren't already following me what are you waiting for!

I hope your Christmas Shopping is coming to an end. I can't wait for Christmas but I still have soo many errands to run before Christmas in regards to planning. I hope you're having a blessed week.

Smarten Up

Outfit Details: Dress: Zara, Coat: Vintage similar (here), Tights: M&S, Purse: Salvatore Ferragamo similar (here), Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo similar on sale (here)

I have been home in the States for about five days now, and I have LOVED every single minute of it thus far. It feels great to be home, to be shopping at a reasonable price again, and to be around my family and friends. There is always something to do and someone to see in the DMV! I am praying January comes slowly, so I can bask in being home for the moment. I am going to be doing some cake tasting today and tomorrow, I'll be sure instagram the process, and doing some more shopping for the holidays.

I took these photos last week in London, while I was Christmas Shopping, and the weather was ridiculously cold. I have had this coat for almost 7 years. I bought it while I was at Howard but never wore it because I thought it was 'too much' now it is very me. It keeps me warm and there is no need for heavy layering. I am not sure how much I bought this coat for, but being that I bought it back in 2005 or so, I am sure it was close to nothing. This coat is a perfect way to instantly Smarten Up an outfit effortlessly. I hope you're having a blessed week thus far!

Cold Blue

Yesterday I was out Christmas shopping and running errands around London and to describe the weather as freezing would be an understatement. I have never seen 'steam' or condensation from the weather being so cold. I definitely would have rethought my outfit. This Zara Coat is just for show, it doesn't keep one warm at all, I have to wear several layers under to stay warm and fo£125.00 I think it was a shop-a-holic mistake, ya'll know what I am talking about.

I have bought several coats this season, as your coat  in my opinion is the statement piece of the winter. In regards to weight and the ability to keep oneself warm, my Zara coat, followed by my Topshop coat seem to be the lightest, and most trendy. The coats that proved keep me very warm are new Mustard COS coat and all my vintage coats. I'll definitely be whipping out my vintage coats this week, as this weather is literally deadly! I can't imagine how homeless people are surviving right now. If I see anyone begging on the road in this weather, I'll definitely be giving them some money, not because it's the Christmas season but because it's the right thing to do. I think we need to learn to more empathetic to other human beings all the time and not only around the holiday seasons.

Sunshine Sequins

Outfit Details: Vintage Dress, M&S Tights, Large Primark Chain Bag similar but better (here) or (here), YSL PomPom Heels similar (here), and Movado watch similar (here).
After clearing out my closest several times this year, I am almost done getting rid of everything I no longer want nor wear. I am trying to tell myself that less is more, I mean I have over 70 pairs of shoes (I've stopped counting) and I seem to wear are the same shoes over + over again. Nonetheless, while going through my clothes in storage to dig out my winter clothing, I have found so many items that I have bought over the years but never wore. This particular vintage wool + sequin dress is so dainty + elegant. Definitely happy I found this treasure!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and keeping warm if you are located in a cold climate. If you're in London be sure to stop by the Vintage Fair to say hello!

Throwback Booth

What type of shopper are you? Do you like shopping with friends or do you like shopping by yourself. If I am on a mission, I tend to like shopping by myself. I don't have to worry about friends getting tired, annoyed that I didn't buy anything or hungry. I can literally shop, shop, and shop some more without having to worry about the other person. The one person I can shop with ALL day long with is my ACE!! I love this chic. If I go shopping with my other half, I have to spell out what stores I am going to....I feel like I'm under restraint. But hey guys generally don't like shopping, *shrugs*.

Shopping in the states to me is always fun, cheaper on my pockets and more fulfilling, then in the UK. Especially Thrift Stores...by this time next week I'll be one step closer to being home and celebrating my last birthday as a single lady!! I hope you all are enjoying your week, and are in holiday season mode!!!
