Work Ethic

Outfit Details: Blouse: Zara, Cropped Slacks: GAP, Leather Clutch: & Other Stories, Heels: MiuMiu + Bangles: New York.

What type of work ethic do you have? I don't like when people are hired for a particular role and do not do their job. I used to be flaky I cannot lie in my early twenties and didn't start taking responsibilities for my actions in regards to work until I worked at a Non Profit Organization in D.C. There your work ethic was very apparent, no short cuts were allowed! Lately, I have been complaining to my Mr about how some peoples work ethic just sucks for lack of better words, which has lit a flame of hard work inside of me.

After these last several months in my place of work, I now know even more the importance of hard work, organization and structure. There comes a point when you realize less is more. I always speak my mind but I am learning in all aspects in life that you don't always have to do something over the top to be seen or heard. I now let my work speak for itself. Don't get me wrong I ALWAYS speak my mind, but after awhile once you've made your point in life their is no need to be repetitive. Diplomacy is key...

Everyone have a blessed weekend. I will be out vintage hunting....wish me luck!

Feel Alright

I am on a mini vacation in Edinburgh and have enjoyed the last 5 days spending it with people I love and just relaxing, planning and lounging. Too bad it's coming to an end as I have to be at work at 7 am tomorrow. Nonetheless, my jam for the weekend that my Mr. introduced me to is Show Dem Camp's: 'Feel Alright.' I love the smooth and melo sound with a tint of old school Afrobeats.

This song is definitely on REPEAT!!! Hope You're enjoying your week thus far!

Accessories Galore

I am innately drawn to fabulous jewelry and accessories; finding joy in all my vintage finds. There is just something about the opulence and extravagance that jewelry can add to ones life. Yes I said life not only ones outfit. When I wear beautiful accessories, my self esteem shoots up ten notches. Some of you may be thinking: 'Her self esteem is attached to material items? That is like SO shallow.' Yup call me shallow but I feel naked without at least one amazing accessory on....mainly my jewelry.

On Sunday last week, I sold some of my vintage jewelry and had a fabulous time with my partner in crime Stella at a Vintage Fair in Putney. It was a social able and pleasant day...
I hope you are enjoying your day off!!!

Sneaker Addict

Yesterday after work, I went 'window shopping' on Oxford and Reagent Street, then went to Westfield to do a bit of grocery shopping at Waitrose and M&S. On my way out, I noticed some lovely High Top Versace Sneakers in the Versace Store Window!! As I went down the escalator, I immediately turned around to inquire about the sneakers and try them on. Unfortunately, they were sold out and they claimed it was exclusive to the Versace store in Westfield and Milan only. I left my information in case a pair comes in.

Being the internet shopper that I am, I immediately checked online for the sneakers and found them on SSENSE.COM. I was beyond excited. My aunt persuaded me from the purchase saying they aren't worth the price tag. I love these sneakers nonetheless. What do you think? Yea or Nay?

Mastering Talents

Have you have ever heard the saying 'Jack of all trades master of none'? My mother told me that years ago, when she saw me doing so many things and I told her Pharmacy School wasn't what I wanted to do anymore. She was not having it, with a little stern message and her prayers I am now a Pharmacy Degree holder, lol. And I don't regret My Chemistry and Pharmacy Degrees one bit...I mean you gotta pay your bills somehow right? Nevertheless, you see I have many God given talents and it can be frustrating at times because you're putting your hands into so many pots that one or two often don't get the attention they need.

For those who know me well, I can sing, some say I can sang! But to be modest I will say I can carry a couple of notes. I also used to I design: tee shirts, jewelry and clothing, I can do some nice graphics, and I am a freelance vintage buyer. Last Weekend I went to visit a friend and he said the same thing my mother said but in a nicer way, (You know African Parents are blunt, but sincerely want the best for their children). He told me I should focus on two talents and not everything, but not ever recording my voice would be doing a disservice to myself. So while I am finishing my current designing ventures, I am also trying to figure out which talents I will focus on and turn into careers and which I will leave behind for others to master. It's hard but I am leaning towards focusing on: Jewelry Buying and Designing.

What do you think? Do you think someone can do it all? Or should they just focus on one talent at a time then move on to the next venture, as I get older I am starting to believe the latter. I am thankful for my God given talents, i.e. Singing and plan to at least make an EP one day before I have kids. In the meantime, I am focusing on accessories and designing, oh yea and Pharmacy too...remember one has to pay the bills.

Here is a preview of my current Jewelry Collection that I am creating. I will hopefully be finished soon!
What do you think thus far?

Everyone have a great weekend.

Dear Ferragamo

The best shoe that has ever been created is Salvatore Ferragamo's Varina. They are classic, comfortable (if you get the right size), range in various sizes and widths, and to me are reasonably priced. I must confess; however, that I have never paid full price for my mini Ferragamo Collection because they ALWAYS go on sale.

With that being said I really want a pair of Green Varina's. I have waited for the past 5 years in hope that they would release a pair, but to no avail. I have seen Aunty's with lime green Vara's but they unfortunately do not wear my size. Trust me when I say I would have begged shamelessly if they did wear my size for them to release them into my possession.

After wedding shoe shopping, I released all designers do custom made shoes, (how a fashion addict like myself didn't know this is beyond my comprehension), so I walked into Salvatore Ferragamo to ask them to make me a pair of Green Varina's! I have to pay 30% extra and they will get back to me momentarily  I have been waiting for 2 weeks now....I am crossing my fingers VERY VERY HARD hoping and praying that they get back to me with good news. Their answer all depends on if they have the green leather readily available. If not, then I won't be getting my favorite shoes in my favorite color. Dear Ferragamo, please come back to me with good news!! In the meantime, I will enjoy the ones I already have.

Cape Love

Outfit Details: Reiss Coat, HM Blouse, Zara Cropped Slacks, Zara Bag, Movado Watch, Animal Bracelets and Custom Pearl + Gold Bangles.

As the weather is getting warmer, I am happy that I can now reduce the number of layers I wear. But I must admit, I still carry a coat around with me as I have a tendency to get cold. This Reiss Coat is the perfect coat to wear for the British Spring: Cold in the Morning, Warm in the Afternoon, and Cold again in the evening. Boy, do I miss warm spring nights back home in the States.

Hope you're having a blessed week, thus far.
