A Green Obession

For the last couple of weeks I have been wearing so much green. I didn't notice until my Instagram account looked like a forest. Green is my favourite colour. I am subconsciously drawn to it time and time again. This Topshop green coat is trendy, chic + surprisingly warm. I have gotten some nice coats this season... I scored this particular coat for £40 on sale! I love when I go to the counter and I expect to spend a certain amount on an item and it's cheaper than you expected! Every fashionista's dream!

Pearl Components

The classic accessory that has stood the test of time are pearls. Here I had a very lazy day, so threw on a simple outfit with pearl accessories to make it classic. The pearl necklace I purchased on Ebay, the David Yurman Inspired Bangles and rings in New York this last Thanksgiving.

On another note I literally have 3 months to my wedding and I have actually gained weight not lost, for reasons which I know: my diet. Thus for the last two weeks I've been watching what I eat more, going to the gym, drinking loads of water and got a PT (personal trainer); as a result, I lost 1 kg. I am determined to not be a chubby bride, I hope to loose another 1kg by the end of the month. I know a lot of people call fat curves; however, I am naturally curvy. I just have to get rid of the extra weight I've gained in the past year, and I shall loose it before the wedding!

I also got featured on Fashionbombdaily last week Thursday, Check it out: (here). For the most part I got positive feedback, which is good! Hope you're having a great week thus far. I'm currently working on my first jewellery collection for class. I'll start posting photos of the process on the blog soon, in the meantime stay tuned via my instagram, twitter and facebook accounts. I post different things on all social media platforms.

Paul Andrew: Shoe Designer

I believe the best accessory to an outfit are shoes. Shoes can make or break your outfit and Paul Andrews shoes will make any simple outfit a ten/ten. I love his unique designs he is a shoe genius, and I hear his designs are beautiful and COMFORTABLE! I pray the quality of the shoes are amazing as well, as some designers that I have tried on in stores are beautiful but poorly made...but I digress.

Paul Andrew has stolen my shoe heart. Here are some of his designs that I am currently craving!!!

Alexis Bittar Spring 2014

Alexis Bittars' Spring 2014 collection is a masterpiece. The use of natural crystals, gemstones, rhinestones, gold, and silver gave this collection a romantic yet bold finish! The metal cuff incorporating natural stones, silver and gold with a 3 dimensional spin, is my particular favourite. This collection is definitely a unique piece of work, with every item in the Spring 2014 collection absolutely magnificent.
I have seen Alexis Bittar Items for a fraction of the price at Luxury Department stores in the states  such as Off 5th Avenue  Outlet and online at Shopbop (here).

Chain Restoration

I remember when I bought this necklace like it was yesterday. I couldn't believe it was from Forever21. It was about 6 years ago in Manhattan and my ace told me the price was too much (for Forever21 that is). Whatever the case, I bought that bad boy and I still rock it every now and then. It has lost a few pendants and the chains are tarnishing a bit, but I still adore this necklace. Thus, to bring the necklace back to life, I added two brooches into the mix: one my mother gave me for Christmas and another I bought in Manhattan to restore the necklace.
Outfit Details:
Topshop Knit Sweater (old)
Vintage Liberty Lame Paisley Skirt (edinburghvintagefair)
Salvatore Ferragamo Shoulder bag
Christian Louboutin Pigalles (here) + affordable version (here)
Restored Forever 21 Necklace like this (here)
Nigerian Gold Bangles similar (here)

I bet you couldn't tell it wasn't in it's original condition! Great, because I find it hard, very hard, to get rid of jewellery.

Swooning for Croon

The Tiawanese brand Croon offers unique and eclectic brogues (as worn in my previous post). The only store to stock them in the UK was Brown's Fashion in London. I literally flew down (okay I was already in London for Christmas *smile*) in hopes that they had a pair in my size, I got lucky as they did!!!

These beauties are right up my alley. The only fault I found was, there is no grip on the soles, so I almost bust my butt going down the stairs (straight face, thank God for railing). After a few wears, the sole becomes worn hence, a better grip. Other than that I have nothing to complain about and I want another colour in the near future.

There variety of colors and glitter is stunning. The Pastel colors are perfect for the Spring!

You can order your shoes from their website (here) or get a pair on sale at Browns (here).
Note: They say to size yourself up; however, I think you should go with your regular size as I wear a 41 and the 41 was just fine.

Gold Stories

I'm obsessed with unique + outlandish flats, so I was ecstatic when I discovered the Brand Croon. I bought a pair of their glitter brogues from Browns during the Christmas Sales. I wish I would have known Brown stocked them earlier, as I would have gotten more colours in my size! Nonetheless, they are a simple solution to making a simple outfit look a bit more trendy and fashionable.
I have heard some say to never mix gold + silver jewelry...I don't agree! Mix, Mix, MIX!

Repeat Offender

I bought this Vintage Jacket one Sunday while I was out and about with my girl Daks from Thirdworldprofashional a couple of years ago. I wish I could make another jacket with a different pattern and the same fabric texture, that's how much I love this jacket. I literally throw this jacket onto any and everything whenever I can. It magically goes with almost anything! This jacket was the best £18 I ever spent on a Jacket.

I tend to like buying vintage jackets as they are made with amazing fabrics, the cuts are fabulous, and they are unique. As my collection of Vintage Jackets continues to increase, this jacket will always be dear to my heart causing me to be a repeat offender, over and over again!!

Happy Valentines day everyone, from my heart to yours! Muwah!!!!

Sporty Chic

Coats are the best winter accessory. During the winter, I tend to invest in more shoes and winter coats than clothing. I had my eye on this marvellous Green Topshop Wool Boyfriend Coat that I blogged about (here), and finally bought it a few weeks ago, on sale. Now Topshop has released an orange version which is also available in Tall! I love my green coat and throw it on whenever the weather in Edinburgh is dreary and I need to brightened up my day. Ultra Bright Coats are a must have this season and next fall as well!!

Here is how I would wear this Topshop Wool Boyfriend Coat:

Wool Topshop Coat (here), Topshop Knitted Animal Quilted Jumper (here), Textured Leather Look Leggings (here), Lanvin Leather High Top Sneakers (here), ASOS pack of Three Eastern Cage Rings (here), NewLook Gold Ethnic Beaded Statement necklace (here) + Saint Laurent Sac De Jour Bag (here) + (here).

These Lanvin Sneakers are a definite must for me soon!!!

Kicked Out

If you follow me on Instagram you saw me trying on these Amazing Lanvin Sneakers this weekend. Lately, I have been obsessed with High Tops. Sneakers have always been a staple in my shoe closet, to satisfy the inner tomboy in me. The trend for wearing sneakers comes and goes; however, they will always be a go to for me, especially for rainy days in Edinburgh! I currently adore Lanvin Sneakers at the moment, they are cute, sleek and very very comfortable.

Lanvin's aren't very trendy (to me) thus they will be like converse which are timeless classics. Oddly enough I like buying items that aren't obviously designer from time to time (don't shoot me when I wear my monogram bags though, thank you.)

Nevertheless, here are some hightop sneakers that are amazing at the moment:

Balenciaga Leather and Suede High Tops (here), Red Versace Patent Leather High Top Sneakers (here), Blue Lanvin High Top Sneakers on sale (here), LOVE these Lanvin Leather High Tops (here), Gucci Neon High Top Sneakers for the daring (here), ASOS Diva Trainers (here), Black Versace Patent Leather High Top Sneakers (here), Nike Dunk Sky Hi Metallic Leather Wedge Sneakers (here).

I'm All Ears

Sometimes, I try to step out of my box and be a bit more playful with my dressing. I saw these bunny ears in Forever21 and thought, 'why not? they are cute!' I paired them with this oversized Topshop boutique dress that I bought last year and Louboutin Pigalles.

I believe every girl needs a pair of classic black pumps in their wardrobe, it is the accessory that goes with any and everything. I chose the Pigalle's personally because of the amazing arch. These are the Pigalle 100's. I won't lie they aren't easy to walk in, the 85's, however are a breeze! Gianvito Rossi has an amazing arch in their classic heels as well. I've selected a couple of black classic pumps that are timeless, yet won't hurt the pocket and a link to the Rossi's!

Everyone have a great weekend. I have class today (hopefully I'll finish my first ring today) then I'm dashing to London for a mere 4 days to relax, do a little shopping, get pampered, and see my family + friends. Make sure you have as much fun as I will!!! I've actually missed London...a bit!

Green McCartney

Outfit Details: Blouse Zara, Coat Thrifted similar (here), Oversized & Other Stories Clutch (Soldout), Green Zara Trousers love these on sale (here), Stella McCartney Slipper Loafers (here).
I am absolutely addicted to flats. For those that have followed me for some time you already know this. Slipper loafers are a particular favourite of mine, thus when I saw these leopard print Stella McCartney Slipper Loafers it was a no brainer. I walked into Harrod's three days after the sale started. The sales lady saw me and told me I missed out as days before the shelves were packed. I wanted to cry...literally. I wear a UK 8/ US 10/11 so it's hard for me to get nice shoes on sale. I often have to pay full price for shoes that I fall in love with.

Green is also my favourite colour. It seems I'm doing a lot of shade mixtures in my outfits lately. I bought this particular long Hunter Green Trench Coat the winter of 2012, in the states, for a mere $10.00. I just might throw this coat back into heavy rotation!!!

Jewellers I Fancy

As I continue to learn the techniques of jewellery making in class, I appreciate the concepts, work, labour and drive that it takes to be a successful designer, much more. For class I've been researching designers and my favourite jewellery designers of the moment are Lulu Frost, Mawi, Kenneth Jay Lane and Ek Thongprasert just to name a few. Here are some of their pieces currently for sale:
Ek Throngprasert
What I love about this design duo is the use of silicone in their pieces and the dynamic designs they have created with this unconventional material!!

Navy Silicone and Cubic Zirconia Necklace (here), Navy Silicone Necklace (here), + Brookin Necklace (here).

Kenneth Jay Lane
Has had the most exceptional animal enamel designs and opulent classic pieces that are timeless. A Kenneth Jay Lane piece in my humble opinion is a necessity in any jewellery lovers collection.

KJL Crystal Statement Necklace (here), Ram Goldtone Enameled Bangle (here),  + Noelle Dark Blue Coral Necklace (here).

Lulu Frost
I discovered Lulu Frost several years ago when I started blogging. Her designs she states combine vintage, antique and modern elements to create timeless classics.

Silver Tone, Crystal and Silk Necklace (here), Exclusive Crystal Necklace for Matches (here), + Silver tone and silk Necklace (here).
Mawi
There bold statement pieces are nothing short of breathtaking. I love the use of animals, tubes, rings and embellishments in their pieces.

Crystal Nympth Earrings (here), Purple + Blue Earrings (here), + Crystal and Spike Drop Earrings (here).

Of all the designers, I have only been able to acquire a Mawi necklace, that I wear all the time. Their pieces to be honest aren't cheap but the quality and aesthetics of their designs are exceptional; leaving you standing out from the crowd time + time again. And that my friend is worth the money.

Designer Spotlight: Elizabeth Cole

Elizabeth Cole is designed by Stephanie Owen hailing from Santa Barbara. She began her career working in Fashion PR. She was always a jewelry maker and would bring her pieces along to show stylists and editors during meetings with them. (note to self). The breaking point in her career as a jewelry maker was when Joss Stone wore some of her necklaces to the Grammy's, launching her line in 2005. (Cole 14)

Her pieces are a variety of modern and vintage with an opulent finish. I am particularly drawn to her rings. I'm currently going through a ring phase and her rings are nothing short of amazing.

Here are some of her pieces currently for sale:

Dominic Necklace (here), Isla Ring (here), Ram Head Ring (here), Double Strand Collar Necklace (here), Strieker Earrings (here), Chain and Crystal Chandelier (here), + Turquoise Citrine Linear Earrings (here).

More discounted pieces here at TheOutNet.
