Don't Slip

Slipper loafers are the ultimate comfortable and chic shoe. What's so marvellous about smoking slipper loafers you ask? They are available in a large array of various prints, patterns and phrases. Whether you wish to pair them with cropped pants, a blazer, shorts or a tee, they give always give one a stylish and classy look.

I'm personally currently in love with a pair of Arthur Sleepers Classy Slippers... In the meantime, I'm drooling over these pairs from Topshop all under £35. The jewelled slippers are personal favorite as they are similar to Miu Miu's embellished luxury pieces, but for a fraction of the price.

Spring Tease

Do you live in a city where the Sun shines bright in the Morning, leaving you so excited because Spring is here? So you dress up in a nice dress and a jacket thinking that will suffice, only to go outside and it's cold. One of my Aunt's growing up used to call this phototrick.

Phototrick (n.) - When the sun is shining and you think the weather is hot or warm, but it is indeed cold. That's what happened to me here. I thought the weather was lovely outside; however, it was a tease. The Sun is shinning brighter, days are longer, the flowers are blooming, now if only the warm weather would roll around too! Tired of the weather teasing us!

Hope you've had a fabulous week!!!

Prada Gems

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wear jewellery on your feet? Okay maybe not actual jewellery, but a shoe so elegantly embellished that it makes you feel like your feet are covered in diamonds.
These Prada Shoes are amazing and I see myself buying them....after the wedding...cough cough (during sale season). Hey I have to keep my heads out of the clouds, the days of spending and not worrying about my account balances is over... darn I really miss being a student and being about to buy whatever I like.

Purchases them in Green (here), Blue (here) and the Multicolored version (here).

Keyshia Cole and Steve Madden Collaboration

When it comes to an outfit, shoes can make or break one's outfit. Which is why I am for the most part a fan of classic timeless shoes that I can wear season after after. However, I make exceptions every now and then, and Keyshia Cole's 2nd collaboration with Steve Madden is one of those times. The funky infusion of metallics, bright colors and prints is exceptional.
If you are loving what you see thus far, prices range from $64.99 - $139.99 on stevemadden.com. The collection is also available at Macy's and Dillard's, in the states. Make your feet skip an extra beat this summer, with a pair of these shoes!

Purchase the collection + view entire collection (here).

Orange Splash

When it comes to shopping and accessories, I love bright, unique + loud pieces for the most part. I bought this Faux Fur Orange Stole a few months ago in London on Oxford Street on sale for only £7.00. If you've been following me over the years, you can tell from my outfit post that I have an affinity for faux fur stoles; I guess one can say I collect them. With both orange and blue colored stoles in my closet now, I'm looking for a green faux fur stole for next fall.

Weekend Cravings: Silver Callings

This weekend I am craving Silver Necklaces, I'm usually attracted to gold tone pieces, but silver necklaces are very on trend at the moment. I bought an empire layered necklace last weekend and I cannot seem to stop layering it with other necklaces in my collection. Layer your silver necklaces to make a bigger statement! Looks great with a dress or a plain tee.

They are an inexpensive way to update your current accessories. Here are some silver pieces I am craving at the moment:
New Look Chain Bib Necklace (here), Nasty Girl Double Up Necklace (here), Nasty Girl Empire Necklace (here), Topshop Curved Bar Coin Necklace (here), Forever21 Traveler Coin Necklace (here), Topshop Doomed Disc Necklace (here).

Have a fantastic + blessed weekend!

Purple Kisses

I rediscovered this Zara botton down back blouse in my closet during Sunday's clothing tornado before church, and I forgot how much I love it. I really wish I would have purchased it in another color 2 years ago when I bought it. I opted to keep my outfit simple while buying supplies, only piling on rings and bracelets.
Outfit Details:
Zara Buton Down Back Blouse (Old) Similar (here)
COS Trousers (OLD)
Assorted Bangles similar (here) + (here)
Christian Louboutin Pigalles 85 (SOLD OUT) similar (here). More affordable option (here)
Vintage SeaGlass Shoulder Bag love this on sale (here)

I hopped on the bus to enter the city and look for supplies yesterday, for my current orders and projects I am working on. Sadly, I have yet to learn how to drive in the UK, these roads are beyond tiny!!! How on earth do people drive here? I am going to learn soon; however, I am a little apprehensive about the laws and driving on the other side of the road. For example, a driver can run a red light in the states and just pay a ticket; in the UK points are added to your license. Oh how I long to drive again in the States this summer, with the sunroof down listening music after leaving happy hour, Friday Nights in the City. Yes, great times are ahead!

I hope you're having a fabulous week thus far and happy where ever you are!

Casual Sundays

Every Sunday I tell myself I'm going to be ready on time, and it never seems to work out how I planned. I really need to get my bearing on time together because I always miss the first part of Mass. Nonetheless, I put on an outfit I didn't plan earlier and noticed it just wasn't flowing. I'm that girl who's room is clean before she gets dressed, but looks like a tornado hit after she's done. Since I was already running late I opted for some comfortable COS trousers and Blouse with my Marks & Spencer's Blazer...
My first complete piece from scratch is this African Continental Ring.
Outfit Details: Marks & Spencer's Blazer, COS Blouse + Trousers, Red Salvatore Ferragamo Varina's (old) similar (here) + (here), Zara Bag in Navy Blue (here), Zara Fur Stole (old), and Assorted Rings.
Not to mention the wind was not giving my hair a break. It looks like I had a part in my hair, but I'm not that funky when it comes to my hair...blame the wind. I hope you had a great weekend, I'm off to clear up the scattered clothing in my bedroom from yesterday's tornado.

Red Gate Lane

Are you that girl that has loads of clothing but either can't fit half of them any more because you've gained weight or you tend to wear the same things over and over again? That is me, the first issue is being resolved now; however, I constantly go through clothing phases. I'll wear a new coat for 2 weeks straight, or the same trousers 4 times in 2 weeks or carry the same bag around for a month. I don't know why we do this or more importantly why I do this, but I'm trying as best as possible to break this cycle.

I scored this oversized Faux Fur Coat during the Winter Sales in Topshop. I tend to only buy clothing on sale at Topshop now, because it goes on sale anyway. The Pompom Purse was a DIY project inspired by Kzeniya's Pompom purses (if you follow me on instagram you've already seen it) and my Miu Miu heels are seaglass in color, which is also my wedding color. I scored them on sale for $200.00 last year on the Outnet. As I always say if you don't have to pay full price don't!!
Outfit Details:
Coat: Topshop sold out Need this (here)
Long Sleeved tee: COS

We all have go to outfits and pieces, mine are roomy jackets and cropped trousers. what are yours?
Hope you had a great weekend. I sure did!

Pump it Up

This spring it's all about coloured and printed pumps. Designers have opted to give the classic pump a toned down make over by infusing various colours and prints to the timeless pump. Coloured pumps are an easy addition to any already chic outfit. One can wear a dark outfit then add a printed and/or coloured shoe to make the outfit spark. Toning down all other accessories and leaving the focus of the outfit on the shoe.

High Range
Gianvito Rossi Pastel Yellow Pump (here), Gianmarco Lorenzi Sling Black Pump (here), Valentino Rock Stud Pump (here), J.Crew Falsetto Printed Pump (here), Mulberry Giraffe Print Calf Hair Pumps (here), Gianvito Rossi Spotted Leather Perspex Heels (here).

Vintage City

Outfit Details: Dress, Faux Fur Stole + Clutch: All Vintage, Shoes: Christian Louboutin Pigalles (here), Ring: Old, Bangles: ZFSowho (here).
At the end of January, I went to a flea market in Edinburgh and scored this lovely faux fur Stole for £8.00. The seller originally wanted £10, but it was the end of the day and I talked it down (last price as if I was in Lagos). I have literally been wearing this stole every week. It's warm and very large making even the simplest of outfits spark.

The vintage dress I bought about 5 years ago at a thrift store in Maryland and I never got around to wearing it. What drew me to this dress was the quality of the fabric but more importantly the detailing on the arms! I seem to have a lot of dresses that I have bought and never worn laying around in my closet (habits of the old me buying on impulse). With me trying my best to not shop before the wedding, I'm wearing pieces that I've stored away in my closet. This slight spending freeze isn't so bad after all.
