Greener Pastures

With the wedding a month away, I am happy that the process will soon be over, wedding planning can be so stressful. I'm blessed for God to have given me a great friend and husband, and embarking on a career and other endeavours that I'll love. If I can give anyone advice I'd say do what you LOVE, and LOVE what you love without any exceptions. Money and happiness will follow trust me.

Greener Pastures are ahead and I'm happy to be at this point in life. I've learned so much in the last year.... looking forward to new beginnings.

I have two high street weaknesses: COS + & Other Stories. It's not wonder both are under Sweden-based Hennes & Mauritz (H&M). & Other Stories Shoes are a mixture of classic, chic and unique. They also have a large array of nice Nike designs for tomboys like me. 

I'm absolutely drooling over these shoes! The double strap leather pumps remind me of Valentinos'.

Long Live Peplums

You'll be seeing a lot of this D.I.Y Pompom Purse, it seems!

Every now and again a fashion craze comes about that somehow becomes a fashion staple. I remember buying this Peplum Blouse two years ago from ASOS, thinking it was a trendy piece that I could only wear for that season. Low and behold several seasons later, peplums are somehow still in fashion rotation!

I've gained a couple of pounds over the last year, and peplum blouses help to hide that extra bulge. Thank God for my PT though, I soon won't be needing Peplums to hide anything... in the meantime: Love Live Peplums! I hope you had a fabulous Easter Weekend! I certainly did. 6 weeks closer to my wedding and doing last minute changes here and there, God certainly is GOOD!

Construction Days

The weather in Edinburgh has been amazing lately. It may not be as warm as I'd like; however, the sunshine is just what I need. I love The City Center in Edinburgh with it's great scenery and bubbly vibes. With the Trams coming up soon, I know it will be even more busy + accessible. Like Nice, France in the Summer!

Yellow Brick Lane

Hello everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent Saturday Morning, going through my clothing and accessories to let go of items I can no longer fit, never wore or was an impulse buy (I'll put some items online God willing by the weekend). I also packed away winter clothing, my wardrobe looks soooo much better! It's safe to say Spring is here!!! Today's weather is so beautiful!!

I bought this Vintage Peplum Brocade Jacket about two years ago at a Vintage Sale in Leeds. It was love at first sight. I paid £18.00, and it was an impulse buy; however, it's an item I will probably never get rid of. I've gained a couple of pounds since then so it fits a bit tight but in two months or so it will be just perfect again! Gosh, how I miss being 24 and eating whatever I wanted and not gaining weight. Here comes the 30's!!!

Monochrome Lines

I have become that girl that tries not to buy items for the most part from Zara full price. I used to buy everything full price, then get upset when everything goes on sale, and I've barely worn them. I have items in my closet from two years ago with tags still on it! However, I love this Zara TRF dress (here); unfortunately being 5'11'' with thick thighs it did not look good, thus during the sale I'm going to buy two, then add the material of one to the bottom making it longer. I digress.

Sweet Nothings

I think we all have favorite items that we start to wear less and less of because you want them to last for a long time. These Carven Sling back bow shoes are just that, along with my & Other Stories oversized clutch. However, after one of my favorite Fendi bags was stolen last year, I've learned these sweet nothings aren't meant to be taken too seriously. Sometimes we place too much value on material things that we start to place our happiness in things as opposed to our happiness in people we love and cherish, and our walk in life to salvation.

I used to be that person that thought 'things' would make me happy. I thought shoes would make me happy, designer bags would make me happy, a big house would make me happy, driving a nice car would make me happy. But one that isn't internally happy notices that these material things cannot fill an empty void within ones-self. I love all of the above and I am thankful everyday for all God has blessed me with; but I no longer think I need every single pair of designer shoes that comes out (although I never thought I needed them I just yearned for them) and no longer feel I need to wear something to be seen in a certain light.

Definitely dress how you would like to be addressed; however, don't let materialism take over the true meaning of your purpose in life and who you want to be. For after all, when we leave this beautiful earth nothing comes along with us. Although a new bag and pair of shoes does make me all giddy inside, I'm learning more and more not to place too much value on material things.

This weekend I went through my closet to find 'old favorites.' I have loads of shoes and I want to downsize, if you follow me in instagram or twitter you know I need to. Nonetheless, I remember buying these grey heeled sandals from COS last year. The first day of the sale, I literally ran to Reagent Street to buy them before work, and almost a year later I have never wore them, story of my life. My feet look a little chunky in them but I'll ignore it, don't laugh!!!

I seem to always wear the same shoes all the time, so I'm trying to rotate, and downsize my shoes as well. (I'll be getting rid of a couple of pairs to make room in my closet). If you wear a size 41 UK 8 USA 10 watch this space.
