Purple Stripes

Outfit Details: Dress Vintage, Belt Liz Claiborne, Bag Vintage, Shoes: Miu Miu, + Assorted Enamel Bangles.

I always say one should know how to dress for their size. I love frequently looking at various fashion blogs and seeing how amazing + creative people are from ALL WALKS of life. However, I have noticed some women still don't know how to dress for their size. I think this is vital. No matter how much your shoes, bags, or jewelry cost, or how fly they are, if your dress is ill-fitting it's overshadows everything else that looks amazing.

I call myself an inbetweener when it comes to fashion. I am not skinny and I am not fat, but I am a bit overweight (thanks to my hips+thighs but currently working on living healthier) studying pharmacy opened my eyes a lot! I can't shop in the plus size section as it's too big and I can't shop in the petite or Skinny section because the clothes are too small. So I'm in the middle. And because of this I have learned with time to try and dress for my shape and size.

Blogging over the years has definitely helped me learn more about what looks good on me and what doesn't. Not to mention I have a blunt mother and fiance that will tell you in a heart beat if you don't look good. There are certain things I can't wear right now, and it's okay because there are so many other items that I can wear that look amazing on me! You won't see me in a body con dress made from jersey material because my stomach isn't as flat as I'd like it do be. But I can wear skater or other shift dresses that fit well. In short, I try to dress for my size, and I think all women should regardless of our size should because as much as we don't want to accept it size does matter. There is nothing like a women that dresses well, and having the perfect fit is the first step to a perfect outfit.

After reading through your blog for a bit, I've drawn only one conclusion: I really love it. I really enjoy the way you write, and you dress impeccably. I love the risks you take, too! Utterly fantastic. Those glittery/jeweled sneakers a couple posts back may just haunt my dreams.

Well said. You know, I'm petit and I buy so many of my clothes from the kid's section. My sister thinks it's inappropriate at my age, but I can find pretty good stuff there. And last, but not least cheaper than the adult sizes.
Btw, I love your outfit. Especially, because I love vintage pieces a lot. I'm always on a hunt for one of a kind pieces.
Yoy look absolutely stunning in that dress, not to mention, your heels made me jealous :)
